Sunday October 31st Mile of Mini Results

The Mile of Minis on the lake was a great success thanks to all Mini owners who took up our challenge and joined us at the MINI Plant in Oxford on Sunday October 31st. Even though the weather was overcast for much of the day, the spirits of all participants couldn’t be dampened and a really great time was had by all. The welcome extended to us by MINI UK was exceptional and everyone was delighted to see the collection of classic Minis alongside brand new ones inside the impressive T Building at the entrance to the manufacturing plant. Juergen Hedrich, Managing Director of MINI Plant Oxford, was on hand to wave the Minis off the start line at the factory gates, before jumping in one himself to join us on the run to Dorney Lake. When we arrived at Dorney Lake, we filled a tiny portion of the roadway with our 80 Minis, which makes us even more determined to grow our participation next year.

Although we didn’t quite make the mile we had a nice moving mile around the lake and most importantly we raised £ 3.617,65 which is a truly outstanding result for a one day event.

Everyone did their best in raising as much as they could but Anthony Woodroof did better than most and wins the Most Sponsorship Award followed closely by the Webb family and their entry of 3 Minis! Congratulations and thanks to all.

Our sincere thanks to MINI for their warm hospitality and to Dorney Lake for allowing us to finish in such a beautiful setting. We will shortly advice the date for next attempt and hope that many more will take up our invitation to spend a day with friends in a beautiful setting... and if you need to be convinced look at the photos
